Manchester, 1840. Industrial ruthlessness and social machinations. With political uprising, the class divide tears Mary Barton from the arms of Jem, her childhood sweetheart, and sends her hurtling into a turbulent trial of murder, deceit and power.

The design is inspired by the Romantic period, focussing on William Turners abstract and emotional paintings alongside the highly relevant cotton mill. Together they create an immersive, open environment in a traverse arrangement.
